Tradewinds ("the App") is a stock research and entry point calculator, developed by Enrique Martinez ("we," "us," or "our"). Tradewinds is currently available for iPhone on the App Store; an Android version is still in development and not yet available. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, and your rights as a user.
By using Tradewinds, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
Information you enter directly: The App allows you to enter stock tickers, prices, financial metrics, trade notes, and portfolio details. This information is stored only on your device using React Native AsyncStorage. It is never transmitted to our servers.
Information we do NOT collect:
Finnhub.io: The App uses the Finnhub API to fetch live stock prices, company news, and financial metrics. When you request data for a stock ticker, that ticker symbol is sent to Finnhub's servers. Finnhub's own privacy policy governs their handling of this data. You can review it at finnhub.io/privacy-policy.
Finviz.com: The App provides links that open Finviz's stock screener in your device's browser. Finviz is a separate service with its own privacy policy. Tradewinds does not share any of your data with Finviz.
Yahoo Finance, StockAnalysis.com, and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission: The App requests market-chart data from Yahoo Finance and provides research links that open these services in your device's browser. These are separate services governed by their own privacy policies.
We do not integrate with any advertising networks, analytics platforms, or social media tracking services.
The App may request permission to send you notifications for price alerts (early warning, approaching target, and target hit). Notifications are generated locally on your device based on price data fetched from Finnhub. You can disable notifications at any time in your device's notification settings.
All data you enter into Tradewinds — watchlist stocks, trade journal entries, portfolio positions, health check values — is stored locally on your device using React Native AsyncStorage. This data is not backed up to our servers. Depending on your device and operating-system settings, locally stored app data may be included in a device backup.
If you delete the App, its local data is removed from the device, although a device backup may retain a copy according to your operating-system and backup settings.
Tradewinds is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
Tradewinds is an informational and educational tool. Nothing in the App constitutes financial, investment, or trading advice. All investment decisions are yours alone. Always conduct your own research and consult a licensed financial advisor before making investment decisions.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
